Our annual QC Property Owners Association Meeting was held as scheduled on March 4. A large group of homeowners attended. Stu Stenger with Stenger Company and Jim Alabach with Kronenke Group of Columbia, Mo. discussed the development of Phase VII of Quail Creek subdivision and the development of the 60 acres of commercial development which fronts out to South Campbell. Plans for a Sam's Super Center including a car wash and gas station were presented. The Super Center is to open April 2009, but there are currently no plans to develop the residential part at this time. The street coming from the new commercial and residential area will connect to Shawnee, but the road will not be connected until the residential portion is developed. Residents expressed concern that traffic from the commercial portion would be allowed to come through our subdivision. The board had previously requested that it not be allowed, but the City of Springfield overruled that request.

Board Members elected to the board were Joe Brozovich, Bill Hass, Donna Howerton, Bob Scott, and Troy Kennedy. President Hass expressed appreciation to Greg Parker for serving on the board for the past two years. Our new incoming officers are Joe Brozovich, President; Bob Scott, Vice President; Donna Howerton, Secretary-Treasurer, and Bill Hass and Troy Kennedy, Members at Large.

SYMPATHY: Condolences to the family of Billy Williams, 4417 Quail Creek. Our good neighbor passed away February 18, 2008. He will be missed.

GARAGE SALE: Our annual spring garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 17. The Christian Foundation will pick up at your curb any remaining items that you wish to donate to them between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

HOSPITALITY: A warm welcome to our new neighbors at 1190 Shawnee. They are Mark Bauer, Robin Benyon, and Robin's two sons, Cameron and Aidan. Their phone number is 417-576-1377. QUAIL CREEK STITCHERS: This newly formed group has volunteered to give back to the community by constructing over 150 flaxseed-filled "eye pillows" to be used by intensive care patients at Cox Hospitals. Members include Natha Anderson, Carolyn Benton, Linda Clary , Carolyn Dixon, Teresa Goldhoff, JoAnna Jones, Dina McKewen, Linda Moneymaker and Linda Willard. They meet weekly to share handwork expertise, fellowship, and lots of laughs.
